Dr. Elvira Buonocore
Scientific area: Ecology and sustainable development
Elvira Buonocore is a Senior Researcher of Ecology at the Department of Science and Technology of Parthenope University of Naples, Italy.
After graduating with honours in Environmental Sciences, she achieved the international title of Ph.D. in “Environment, Resources and Sustainable Development” with label of Doctor Europaeus.
Over the last ten years her research activities have been focused on investigating natural and human dominated ecosystems using environmental accounting and assessment to unfold the role of matter and energy flows in the functioning of ecosystems.
She is the Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Ecodynamics and Sustainable Development of the Department of Science and Technology of Parthenope University where she contributes to research projects and academic supervision of both Master and PhD students.
She teaches courses in the International PhD Programme "Environment, Resources and Sustainable Development" and in the Master Programme "Biology for Sustainability". In addition, she also teaches Life Cycle Assessment in the Master Programmes "Project Manager of the Public Administration: interdisciplinary tools for the sustainable development of local Authorities" and "Natural Capital, Ecosystem Services and Environmental Accounting".
